Share Your Story with My Story Out Loud

My Story Out Loud is a digital storytelling project dedicated to uplifting the narratives of LGBTQ+ youth of color and young people living with HIV across the nation by capturing our stories and experiences. Stories shared with My Story Out Loud are highlighted on Instagram and other channels.

Storytellers may also have the opportunity to share their stories with the media and with policy makers to help ensure equity for LGBTQ+ youth of color.

Examples :

The most common way we use your stories is on our Instagram page, such as this example from Khouri, or this example from Stephon.

Remember to think about and include how your sexuality, gender identity, or HIV status has been impacted by other identities you hold, such as in this example from Ameera. If you have time to answer some of the optional questions about what you learned growing up, here is a good example from Ebony of how they might be used. Here is another good example from A'Timah.

We also may contact you about telling an audio version of your story such as this example from Maxine.
